1 - Divex COBRA: Presentation
This video from Divex presents the COBRA (Compact Bailout Rebreathing
Apparatus). This system replaces the SLS Mk 4 and is described in our
document “Description of a saturation system” (see in documents/documents
“Diving & ROV Specialists”/Description of a saturation system).
We highly recommend using this apparatus for saturation dives below 60 m,
as it allows breathing 45 minutes at 120 m instead of 7 minutes with a 14 litres
/300 bar classical bailout. Also, it is designed for dives below 350 m, in addition
to the fact that it is equipped with a module that reheats the breathed gas,
which is not possible with a classical bailout.

This animation explains the working principle and the main parts of a
diaphragm compressor. It can be used to teach this system to divers and
technicians. Note that diaphram compressors, invented by henri Corbin in
1916, allow to compress all gases to very high pressures. Note that diaphragm
