1 - Lists published by IMCA Several initiatives have been made by IMCA diving contractors of several regions to mutually recognize some doctors able to perform suitable medical examination of divers. These lists have been published as information notes by IMCA as follows: IMCA D 07/09 Asia-Pacific initiative has been withdrawn from the IMCA website. However, the list updated in 2017 is available by clicking on this text. This list indicates doctors in the following countries. 3 - Diving doctors based in Canada The "Diver Certification Board of Canada" is an internationally recognized certification program for the occupational diving and ROV industry, steered by multiple stakeholders committed to advancing and improving the Canadian underwater sector without any personal gain or profit. 4 - Diving doctors based in the USA The Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) is an international non-profit organization. The UHMS is also a globally recognized source of scientific information for diving and hyperbaric medicine physiology. 5 - Diving doctors based in Australia The South Pacific Underwater Medicine Society (SPUMS) is an organization that aims to promote and facilitate the study of all aspects of underwater and hyperbaric medicine and publish information to its members and the diving community. 6 - Diving doctors based in France The preeminent French association representing companies engaged in underwater and other hyperbaric operations is the SNETI (Syndicat National des Entrepreneurs de Travaux Immerges). Regrettably, this organization does not furnish any connections to medical institutions. This also holds for the Minister of Labour, who released a roster of authorized labour physicians but omitted a directory of approved practitioners for conducting medical assessments on commercial divers.
